now, now...sexual predation is only BAD when Republicans do it...gay sex is only BAD when pursued by Republicans even with teenaged boys, remember Dem Rep (Mass)Gerry Studds’s continued service in the House for 13 years after he unapologetically admitted to having had ACTUAL sex with a teen page?
typical Dem outrage before the election in November.

First, he didn't have the affair with teenage boys. Second, when Bill lied about it, he came a smidge away from being impeached. I wouldn't call that a slap on the wrist. So, I'm curious, you think what Foley did was OK? If your son or daughter were pages on Capitol Hill and a Congressman emailed the kind of things Foley emailed to that kid, you wouldn't have a problem with it? You must not be a parent then.

The problem with Mark Foley is that he appears to be a hypocrite, where he denounces a behavior on the one hand but practices it on the other. (Another example is the conviction of the president of the National Baptist Convention on theft and racketeering and who used church money to buy a house with a mistress--WOW, is this really WWJD?)
From Wikipedia:
'In the House, Foley was one of the foremost opponents of child pornography. Foley had served as chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. He introduced a bill in 2002 to outlaw web sites featuring sexually suggestive images of preteen children, saying that “these websites are nothing more than a fix for pedophiles.” As it was written, the bill would have prohibited commercial photography of children, and it failed due to the unmanageable burden it would have presented to the legitimate entertainment industry.[15][16] In June 2003 he wrote letters to the governor and attorney general of Florida, asking them to review the legality of a program for teenagers of a Lake Como nudist resort in Land o’ Lakes, Florida.[17]
Foley’s legislation to change federal sex offender laws was supported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh, and a number of victims’ rights groups. President George W. Bush signed it into law as part of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006.
Foley also succeeded in getting a law passed that allows volunteer youth-serving organizations like the Boy Scouts of America and Boys and Girls Clubs to have access to FBI fingerprint background checks to help protect children.'
Mark Foley is guilty of workplace sexual harassment, if not sexual predation. Bill Clinton was neither harassing nor predatory towards Monica Lewinsky, who was a fully participatory ADULT in the matter.
If you want to cast stones, then you might as well cast them at most of our country's founding fathers. Fact of life: Power is an aphrodisiac, and powerful people have high sex drives. Put it together, and centers of political action become very...heated.

A slap on the wrist???? Please!! The sexually repressed and criminally insane Republicans utterly destroyed his presidency with their nosey inquisition and witch hunt. They impeached Clinton for his ******** which was pretty innocent when you compare it to the murderous, destructive, criminal shenanigans carried out by the current idiot in the white house!
Furthermore, Monica Lewinsky was NOT a minor and it was definitely consensual sex, whereas the pages involved with Foley were minors and he was sexually harassing them! You need to start seeing things a bit more clearly.

There is a ...just ever so..slight difference, even you can see that. Monica gave Bill a BJ at her own suggestion...Foley stalks on the Internet and makes suggestive remarks to minors who are NOT in a position to say NO without fear of job reprisal...slight difference. The real mess is the Republican COVER UP of this for more than 3 years! They even appointed Foley to police the Internet.. Surely even you can see the ludicrous situation the Republicans have created! This is as bad, if not worse, than WATERGATE.

You're joking, right?
This is a man that championed himself on the issue of child protection, and it turns out that he's no better than those perverts in the Dateline Specials.
He should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The whole republican party covered for him while he went after young boys. Monica was over 21, and admitted to making the first move.

Because he is a Republican and the party does not take these things lightly. The emails were weird and improper, but the IMs are downright nasty. He needed to be gone.
If he were a Democrat, he would have survived it all, most likely....especially after going to "rehab".
