Hi Melly, I cant vouch for the lip..cause I dont have that done. But I did at age 33 get my bellybutton done. It hardly hurt. It was the healing process that sucked. Have to really baby it and keep it from any touching of fabrics. My dog hit it once and i thought i was gonna go thru the roof. But have to say..I love it. Dont think it hurt much at all. But then again...i guess im kinda tuff. 2 labors..no drugs.. hehe. Dont be scared...have it pierced. You wont regret it:)

Personally, my belly button hurt really bad, but I also had some scar tissue there from getting it pierced before.
My lip however, was nothing. The only part that hurt was when the needle started to come through the outside of my lip, but that was only for a split second.

Don't listen to those people...The anticipation is the worst part...I don't know about getting your lip pierced but getting my belly button done didn't hurt...(I did hold onto someone's hand the whole time). It didn't hurt as much as getting my nose pierced...and if given the opportunity to do it again I would...: ) I'm such a wuse too...I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 16....I think you'll be ok...plus every guy that I've ever been with loved my belly button ring.

I think that pain which calls for someone to get drunk or high before the process, doesn't need to be attempted. There are better places for piercings and don't forget about the after effects that some people have, ok. Good luck on your decision and make sure to follow up.

Everybody is different,I have many piercings and I think you could probably handle it better than getting a tattoo!The pain of a piercing is fast and quick,kinda like a shot and maybe alittle numbing feeling after-wards.And it depends where you get it!

i had my lip pierced and it is a quick pinch and your done the only time that it hurts is the next few days but if you take care of it it is not that bad...

There is pain experienced with any type of body modification, you just have to decide if the pain is worth the long term product.

Ouch ! Why do you want to do that ? Esp. on the lip .. it looks gross and kissing must be difficult. Good Luck! :)
