Did you see the movie "The Mothman Prophecies" a few years ago?????If not, rent it.It was based on a recent disaster in a small U.S. town, that actually happened.I believe The Mothman is a form of urban legend. The reason an urban legend is a legend is because there is no proof, only speculation! Something to ponder.Richard Gere looked great in this movie, too!!

Every urban legend has some kernel of truth to it. Most aren't based on ACTUAL events, but on lessons that need to be learned and possible scenarios that anyone could actually find themselves in.
As a resident of Wisconsin, I believe in the Beast of Bray Road. It's a state pride thing, I suppose. What happened there, who knows? But the people who saw the Beast KNOW they saw something that wasn't a person and wasn't a big dog. IMHO it is a true story. To others it's simply poppycock.

Most urban legends started with a true story and as it got passed around it became more and more fantastic......people change the location or name or some part of it to make it fit their part of the country.

You know I don't believe in a warewolf but I do turn into a real animal on the road when people are driving down the highway talking on their cell phone's and just don't give a sh*t about other's around them and Iam driving a 80,000 lb truck and they keep swerving into my lane or cutting me off thinking I can stop on a dime. Well I can't stop on a dime, but I can stop on their car or pickup! You know I once saw a girl eating a bowl of cereal and driving with her knee once! Now that's a real monster! Gerrrrrrrr

By definition, legends (urban or otherwise) aren't true. However, there are stories that sound too wild to believe that are nevertheless true.

"A hawthorne tree blooming in May -- there's a wonder for you! Who would believe that ugly black stump could do THAT?!"

Yeah the one about the people running to the suburbs because it isn't safe in an urban environment anymore because of drugs, crime, ignorance and lower evolved species not teaching their monster children anything but the ignorance they never learned. They are monsters called crack-wolves. Frankenpimp is selling it to them. The hoe from the black lagoon is really sweet though. The bad thing is the crime is in the suburbs now too. Humans are all monsters.
