I have been dating my boyfriend for 2years and we are so in love. ..?
We always talk about getting married, and we both agree that we want to in the near future. But everytime i ask when he is actually going to ask me...he says he is waiting till he saves up enough money to buy me a BIG diamond.(just to let you know we are not rich....) Do you think he is just saying that to put it off ..or do you think he really just wants to get me the prefect ring?!?! (I just wanted to add that we have lived together for 1year in our apartment , we have a dog, and a car that is both ours...we have tons of house stuff that is both of ours)

It might be a little bit of both. Commitment to one person by law is a lot bigger then just living together. It's scary. But he also prob doesn't want to get you a little dinky ring. He wants to feel like a man that can give you what you deserve.

sometimes men think that they have to make that ring and exstension of their manhood , thus much larger. More Exspensive.

Something you can be proud of and show to girls you know.

Something to make other men jealous, ad angry because now their wives want prettier rings.

*sigh*

Or maybe he's just nervous.

You never know. Ask him

Is the ring important to YOU? Let him know if it's not and if he still stalls, then he doesn't want to marry you.

Doesn't matter what you have my answer is the same. He's not ready (if he ever will be) to get married.

he's just probably trying to save up to give you the perfect wedding you're dreaming of!

but it can be possible that he's just trying to put it off.

but you should talk to him about what you're thinking.
