More than 360 years have passed since the massacre at Jamestown. How do racism, arrogance, and revenge lead to violence today? How do these bad things exist in a society that is modern and educated?

The nature of man is competitive and distrustful of anyone not "the same". It's like the alpha dog of the pack- the strongest gets the best. The poor are oppressed by the wealthy, the weak surrender to the strong. The downtrodden seek revenge upon the arrogance of the more fortunate. Unfortunately, a 'modern and educated' society doesn't exist. There has always been, and I believe always will be, war, hatred and ignorance. It isn't necessarily 'good vs evil', but rather the concept that everyone belives that 'they are right' and everyone else is wrong.
