You have a really bad problem with your Nitrogen Cycle is what it sounds like to me. What are your water parameters currently looking like? I'm talking about Ammonia/Nitrites/pH???

That sounds like a severe Ammonia problem to me.

Only thing I can find that comes close to that is a bacterial infection. I'd try some antibiotic medicated food, Petsmart sells it now, has an antibiotic in it. Also pick up an antibiotic at the pet store. I'd try a tetracycline antiibiotic.
Before doing that, I would do a 40% water change, and get on a weekly schedule of changing 20-30% of the water. Usually poor water conditions are the cause of most fish diseases/stress.

Before adding any meds, be sure to remove any carbon from your filter, or if you use one of those filters that come with the carbon, take it out and put some filter floss in the filter until the treatment's done. The antibiotic will probably end up killing off a good portion of your beneficial bacteria as well, down side of using them, so be sure to monitor your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels, so you can increase your water changes if needed when treatments done. Also try posting on one of these forums for advice, someone may have experience with your situation, or can advise you better. Good luck!!

First of all take a water sample to a local pet store and have then test it.It should help you find out what's going on.Another tip do a 20% WATER CHANGE EVERY WEEK. This removes excess ammonia and fish waste. If you don't have one buy a TANK VACUUM it's a tube with a hose you put the tube into the tank and the hose into a large bottle and sweep the tube back and forth through the gravel which causes the excess junk that is in the gravel to become floating in the water and you vacuum it out. The general rule for how much fish to put in a tank is as follows ONE (1) INCH OF FISH LENGTH PER GALLON OF WATER (FRESHWATER) THREE (3) INCHES OF FISH LENGTH PER GALLON (SALTWATER) And you do not want to put more that TWO (2) TO THREE (3) new fish into any tank PER WEEK.Another thing you have to let YOUR TANK RUN EMPTY OF FISH just the filter seasoning the water and the heater warming it for TWO WEEKS before putting FISH ONE (1) into the tank. Also only feed them ONCE EVERY OTHER DAY NO EXCEPTIONS

That is a common disease, and is easily transmitted among tropical fish. There's no real way to cure it. Immediately remove any fish with the symptoms. The best thing you can do is isolate any fish that are still healthy in a different tank or container, empty the aquarium and clean it thoroughly. If you use stones on the bottom boil them in water for a few minutes.

The cure is called Melafix. You can get it at the pet store or even Walmart. It cures a wide variety of diseases. Read the bottle to see if your problem is listed on the bottle. If not, get Primafix. You can get it at the same place too. It should cover anything else that the Melafix doesn't cover. This stuff is like a miracle. I haven't had a disease or parasite in my tanks for years thanks to this stuff. Please go and get some. It is relatively inexpensive especially considering the cost of all your dead fish. This will work!

Yes, It is a disease in the tank. It's called Ick. It is treatable with medication readily available at any pet store. DON'T put an more fish in there until it's cleared up. It may take a week or two but the fish can be saved.
Good Luck,

It sounds like ammonia poisoning. Was the tank cycled before you put these fish in?

If you washed your tank with soap it kills them so just wash it with water. Check to see if EVERYTHING is working and there are no holes. If it is ok take it back to where you brought it and get a new one.
