"A candle that burns twice as bright, lasts half as long"...
>>>>
Assume : that burning twice as bright, in the context of your life, means that you would do twice as much with your life (reaching higher peaks than you would normally)... but that lasting half as long, would mean that your lifespan would be half of what it normally would from now on....
So, if you would have 40 years left in your life, this would reduce your life to 20 years left....

What would you choose???.. and why???

Thanks, for answering in advance!D

Hi Kimberly!
tough question. I would chose to live my whole life beacuse I don't think I need to "burn twice as bright". I mean, I try to live as "bright" as possible, it's a decicion to live happy and life at it's fullest or not to. You choose how to live your life. So yeah, and living half wouldn't let me do all the things I want to do.

Good question!!

Thanks, have a beautiful weekend too!

My personal take on living has been to live fast and be a great looking corpse. Well I've lived fast, but out lived the great looking corpse part. My hope now is to arrive at the end of my days not well preserved and looking fresh and unused, but rather exhausted, used up skidding sideways and yelling WOW! what a ride, wish I could do it again!

Considering that my fears are related to the "undiscovered country", I would prefer to last twice as long.

"Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered country, from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?"
- William Shakespeare, Hamlet Prince of Denmark

I'm bright enough so I would rather live my whole life than only half. More time to have with loved ones, and learn more.
