Flirting through aggression??????????????
My best friend is always hitting me playfully. She is a girl, I'm a guy, we are 15, and people keep saying she is flirting. Today, for example, she just hit me in the head with a school book (lol) for no reason. We have known each other for 2 years. First off, do you think this actually is her way of flirting? She doesn't do it to other people. And also, what should I do back? Should I also playfully mess around with her?

Yep, sounds like she is flirting. If you like her as well, flirt back - but don't hit her with a school book lol.

She's flirting with you, that's for sure. She will stop all of that hitting if you do the mature thing and ask her if she ever thought about the two of you going out. Then begin the conversation, end it by asking her out. At your age, that is a common way of showing someone that you like them.

deffinately flirting... i have a friend that is crazy for this guy on our cross country team and she always hitts him playfully for no reason, I asked her if she was flirting and she said ya. So your friend is flirting with you.... don't hit her back playfully.... poke her. that is the best thing to do i think. don't ask why... it's a girl thing...

If you are interested in her maybe you should ask her out as a friend and see where it goes. If you are not interested in her in that way(or unsure how you feel), ask her about her feelings toward you. If she asks why, tell her that someone whom will remain anonymous suggested it as a possibility. Explain that you hadn't thought of it that way but you would really like her opinion/ feelings on this (as it is clearly eating away at you). Whatever answer you get, as a friend, it is important to respect her feelings. And by all means be HONEST with her AND to yourself.
Personally as a girl in general, I adore all my friends. Camaraderie is a must whether it be in horse play or real help.... It is a way to gage your truest friends. You seem to be a truly good friend to her from what you are telling us here. Good luck to you young man.

The ONLY thing you should do "back" is to let her know as a friend that this is not an acceptable behavior. Let her know NICELY that you dont like it. But yes - I do think she is trying to flirt and doesnt know how

I think she's kinda flirting with you, but I think it's pretty painful to you.
A book in the head? that's gotta hurt.
Tell her to stop.
Don't go doing the same to her, or else she might want to stop talking to you, or start hitting you harder.

You said she is your best Friend? She may think she is playing around like she is one of your guy friends.

Next time she hits you with a book, say "Dude, that's so not cool." and turn away. She'll stop it. Good luck.
