I make cookies, a killer rum cake and pumpkin bread for a little extra gift for my daughter and son's families. I am a poet so I try to write a new poem and frame it. I also take pictures of the children and edit them on my computer, buy a frame , and give those to the families. I have bought inexpensive ornaments and painted them and tied them on a wrapped Christmas gift. I've never given homemade coupon books as gifts-you know, where you promise goods or services (babysitting, grocery shopping, just a long talk) but I am strapped for cash this year so I may seek more creative outlets.

Well, I'm not sure what the occassion is, but I know that for a gift that I gave someone at a wedding shower was a picture that I had taken of her and her fiance and blew it up to an 8 x 10 and put it in a really nice picture frame. It's the thought that counts.

My family has a tradition of trading homemade Christmas ornaments. It was started with my Grandma and now that she has passed away it feels like it's important to keep the tradition up so that we always remember her.

I like to Crochet, I've made small snowmen ornaments, scarves, mittens, slippers. But if you don't know how to crochet or knit, you can always do something else but any Arts and Crafts store can give you some good ideas as well! Good luck.

Food is good, particularly if you can make some kind of gourmet treat like a special chutney or jam.
And the best thing is you are making 8 or 12 at once ;-)

Knit a scarf. Even if you don't know how, it is super easy to learn basic stitches. Buy a really colorful/interesting to set-off the simple stitches. You could knit a nice one in an afternoon.

My widespread domicile made contemporary replaced into not definitely meant for me. My mom in regulation gave me an angel ornament that my husband made whilst he replaced into in kindergarten. this is a image of his face on an angel physique and he glued cotton balls on the wings. It even has a sprint halo created from aluminum foil. it continuously gets placed front and midsection on our Christmas tree.
