I used a knife like the kind with the razor blade that you can change out (a box cutter). You have to be careful not to cut yourself but it worked well. I slid it under the grout and separated it from the tub then slid it behind the grout. I able to slice enough get it started and then used the blade to chip it out. Good luck it's a tough job.

it shouldn't be that hard, grout doesn't usually adhere to porcelain, or any slick surfaces. If i could see you i would be able to give you a more definitive answer. Try to scrape it off but start with the top layer and work your way closer to the surface of the tub. Again if i was there that would make more sense.

Home Depot has a product to remove grout. But be careful how long you leave it on, because it will mar the tubs finish if you're not careful.

I have used powdered Bar Keeper's Friend which is excellent at removing rust, even from an old tablecloth I bought at a flea market. Also have used dishwasher detergent to soak spots on my countertop and sink. Just be careful not to scrub and dull surfaces. I always test in an inconspicuous spot to make sure it won't discolor or damage anything.

No, it's not spelled crout, it's spelled grout. Good job, Asker!

That deal with the knife or razor blade sounds good to me.

spray it on. it will set up and turns into a paste like white looking toothpaste.
let it set overnight.
then use an sos pad warm water and lightly scrub it off.
