Why is everyone giving Alex Rodriquez such a hard time. It takes a team to win or lose a game, not one player.

Then why don't they pay everyone on the team the same amount? It's because some players - the supposedly great ones - are expected to carry the team.

I am not a Yankees fan, but Derek Jeter is a great player and earns his money because he is MONEY in October. But A-Rod has constantly underperformed in the clutch...dating back to his Texas Rangers days. So Yankee fans are justified in their anger.

It's because he's the player that people expect to push the team over that hump and to win. He gets a hard time because he can't do what he does in the regular season during the playoffs. He's just an easy target with the bagillion dollars he's making. I agree with you though. It's not his fault and he shouldn't be getting blamed for everything. Hopefully he'll get traded in the off-season and no one will care anymore.

Because A-Rod thinks he is the team. He does not play like a team player. He is a high paid guy who thinks that everything is about him. He did not play like a team player tonight. I am a die hard Tigers fan and I am glad he didn't play like a team player. He has so many errors for a guy who is supposed to be so good. Give me a break he is terrible.

money doesn't buy you championships...just ask the new york knicks...i would take the marlins roster over the yankees roster any day...with young talent and a whole lot of money...expect the marlins to be contenders very shortly....with the type of production that the yankees got from a rod this year...and the past couple of seasons..they might as well kept soriano....he put up similar numbers if not greater in the regular season..and he too sucked in the post season....but was wayyy cheaper

A-Rod does not deserve all of the blame for the downfall of the Yankees this postseason. All of the Yankees struggled the last 2 games vs. Det. He hit 30-something homers and drove in 120+ and hit a little above .290 and he is the reigning AL MVP... he should not be blamed.

Not for the Yankees...Keep in mind they have created a "team" over the past few years by purchasing the best individual players out there. Now we all see what that does for them... GO TIGERS!!!

Because A Rod makes more than half of the rest of the team. But you are right, the whole team blew it. Now I have to go back to my tears......

If the player is making a quarter of a billion dollars to just hit the ball in a clutch situation, he should do it.
