I have to write a children's book for my English class, and I am having a lot of trouble with it. I want you guys to give me ideas not do it for me. Hopefully some of you will actually try to help me.
Okay, Here is the assignment.
Make up your own god or goddess and write a childrens story about them. Use two existing gods or goddesses to be your gods parents. Your god or goddess has to have similar traits with its parents. For example, if the god of youth and the goddess of love had a child, it could be the god of young love. (You CANNOT use this example)
Please help me soon, cause this is due next Tuesday!!! Thanks!!!

Get info about the gods and godesses first. Choose the ones you like.
** The MOST important thing about writing is that you have to be interested in what you're writing. If I give you two suggestions, and you take them simply to get through it faster, your writing will not be good.**
Oedipus is an interesting and sad story. Take another goddess who was good and combine them. I'm usggesting Oedipus because it's a story that'll be easy to find info on. And you can pair it up with any good goddess, and the different ideals should create and interesting god child.
Go to wikipedia.org
Lots of stuff there.

I always thought it would be fun to pick a couple of the established Gods and have them have a child that turned out to be the Christian version of God. Well, when you name a kid "God", he's bound to turn out with a HUGE ego!
He could attend the Academy of Godhood, and the current planet Earth could be his science project with the flooding of the Earth being when he accidentally left the faucet on in the lab, and the 10 commandments was an essay in philosophy class (probably got an F on that one)
I'd say his best friend was Satan (son of Loki from the Norse realm), till he got into a fight with Satan and things have just never been the same since.

Well, who are your favorites of the gods and goddesses? And do you want your god or goddess to be a total jerk or do you want him/her to be a virtuous one? Actually, i guess if it's to be a children's story it should be a good -guy. My favorite Gods are Eros and Dionesius, because they're cool and they're the only ones who truly fell in love with their wives and remained loyal to them. Aphrodite and Zeus are the usual ones that are filthy and are always cheating on their partner in marriage. But do they have to be greek? If not, maby you can mix a greek on with an Egyptian one or something.

Greeks have a bunch of Gods. I think i did this project or close to it before. We had to draw what they would look like too. Here's another example to work with. Use Athena (Greek: á¼Î¸Î·Î½á¾¶) She was the goddess of civilization, specifically wisdom, weaving, crafts, and war. Athena's wisdom encompasses the technical knowledge employed in weaving, metal-working, and war, but also includes the cunning intelligence (metis) of such trickster figures as Odysseus. And use Aether (Greek: ᾿ÎιθήÏ), he in Greek mythology, is one of the Protogenos (first-born). He is the personification of the "upper sky", space and heaven, and the elemental god of the "Bright, Glowing, Upper Air." He is the pure upper air that the gods breathe, as opposed to regular air (᾿ÎήÏ, aer), the gloomy lower air of the Earth, which mortals breathe. You could give them a child, give him a name. He could be the god of aerial war.

Vulcan was the forge god. He made beautiful things such as a chair that could imprision his mother Juno. His wife was Venus, goddess of beauty. Their child could be the god/goddess of beautiful art.

First look through a baby's name book, they have the definition of names in them, next, decide on the names and meanings of the parents names, then choose a child's name based on what you've come up with.Build up on the character of the child as he comes to personify his name.Take the positive traits of his name and magnify them.Of ,course hjs challenges will always be taylored to portray his struggle to fulfill the meaning of his namesake.
