If you discuss this with your mom she will feel closer to you and you may find out Mama knows lots of things. Plus she will trust that you will come to her with issues you are having... might get a bit of respect from her.Us mom's KNOW it takes guts to say certain things. We like to know that you'll have the guts with other things out there.Even if we don't say anything to y'all- when you come to your mom with personal questions...you cross a threshold...into woman hood. THAT"S when y'all go from being our kid to our young woman. Young women have to understand -womanhood has NOTHING to do wit getting your period.I know plenty of women that don't get there period. It DOES have a lot to do with standing for yourself. If you don't know then your strong enough to ask. And maybe a lil freedom will come your way ;)

Hi :-) Perhaps you should try wearing the nighttime pads which offer greater protection; changing your pads frequently will also help prevent any leaks. I always used to tie a sweater around my waist in case I leaked, I had an extra article of clothing to hide any stains - but, it never happened LOL But it was nice to know that I had something to cover it up with if it ever did. And try to talk to your mom, she'll be so happy you came to her, she may even let you skip school if the flow is really heavy. Personally, I am not one to think a girl should be out and about on the first day of her period especially. She should REST!

You probably think that because you are on your period - everybody knows... They don't! You need to relax about it and remember that most girls your age are thinking the same thing, but can you tell which one of them is on their period just by looking at them? No - you can't. If you are really afraid of leaking, wear a tampon and pad together. I even had a friend that would tie a shirt around her waste just in case, but really that only made it more obvious.

Try wearing a tampon with a pad. Pads with wings work better in my opinion. Make sure you change them often, and you won't have to worry! If you are still worried about it, bring an extra pair of clothes with you to school. Try to talk to your mom about this. I'm sure she's been through it before, and you'll feel better once you talk to a live person about your feelings.

I would suggest getting some pads with wings, they don't leak, or, change your pad frequently. It is normal to feel wet, it is physiological. Just suggest to your mom next time u r in the super market, that u would like to try a different kind of sanitary napkin, mother's are very understanding.

I am really sorry to hear you can't talk to your mom. I am very clode to both my girls and we can talk about anything.. ok....your problem....every girl in the world has the same feeling. you can always wear a tampon and pad at the same time. or just go to the bathroom between classes. you can do anything you want to when its your time. you might not feel good but you just keep living life like normal...hope this helps.....

They make tampons called Juniors...by Tampax I think. they are made for young girls. If you use those with a pantyliner(not a bulky pad) you should be all set!
