you should switch over to ortho tri cyclen lo...it still protects against pregnancy and has less hormones in it than all the other forms of BC, but it still does the job. as long as you remember to take it everyday, i know its a hassle and that why a lot of people get the depovera shot, but hey -- theres's less side effects. well at least for me. talk to your ob/gyn about it. he/she should be able to prescribe you with another method of birth control that suits your needs :) hope i helped.

you are not going crazy the depo shot has been the cause of very serious problems for YEARS including yours, severe weight gain, hair on the chest, hands, feet, stomach, it can also make you sterile as with all birth control medication but the depo shot has been shown to have a higher sterility rate. Since you are stopping your period completely no one should be surprised by any of this, you are stopping your body's natural process. I do not agree with birth control since it is very harsh on the females body but unfortunately this is the only 99% effective way a woman can protect herself from unwanted pregnancy. Let's just hope they will figure something out soon that doesn't hurt the female body.

i was on depo for several years and did not have any problems, but i know that there are side effects. depo is a medication and all medications have risks of possible side effects, so no you are not going crazy. talk to your doctor and he/she can help you find another form of birth control that will work for you.

I had severe reactions to Depo (especially the intestinal issues and headaches)... I had one shot and it took me going on fertility drugs 9 months later to return to a cycle so I could conceive.
