My husband and I purchased my mother-in-laws home. We had agred to buy it from her for $75,000 but since she was going to help us with the closing cost she asked to us ask for any $80,000 loan instead so in reality at the end we ended up paying our own closing cost. any how we instead said we would ask for a $90,000 loan so that we could put $10,000 into the house since the house needed alot of work. We asked for the $90,000 load and our agreement with her was that we would just ask for one single chceck anyways she would transfer the $10,000 ffrom her acoount to our account. No big deal right. Wrong. She screwed us over and has decided to disown her son just so that she can keep the money. what can we do? She live in brownsville. We live in houston. There are some people at the bank that helped us with the loan that know what our deal was. Because we are familty we never thought she would do this to us. We need legal advice because in actuallity she stold $10,000 from us.
