It's my understanding that McDonalds and many other fast-food restaurants pay minimum wage, whatever it happens to be in your state. Few have benefits because they are not unionized. They might have some form of group insurance, but you need to be working there more than three months to qualify for it. You should ask first.

I work at Walmart and I make $9.90 an hour and I just started this past week. So you are dead wrong about only making $8.00 an hour. I suggest you stop assuming what people make. Clearly you are very very young or new to america. Like someone else said, if you stay home you will make $0.00 where as working you would make $726. Now what one is better? If you have bills to pay or rent any bit helps and there is such thing as having a budget and SAVING. I suggest you look in to that. Also you don;'t have to eat out all the time. Spend a good $40-$60 on a weeks worth of groceries and you are set. Spend $150 a month by shopping at Costco and you can save even more sibnce you buy in bulk. As for driving. If you live in a metro area just take the bus or metro train. Easy. Simple, Save on gas and insurance, You do relize that a good chunk of managers and even CEO of major corporations all started at jobs like Mcdonalds. Anyone can start off at Mcdonalds making "$8.00 an hour" and easly move up in the ranks. Its been done before. It will keep happening. Seems you are the type that likes to put down those who are bellow you. You make me sick.
