Absolutely. Fusion is much safer than fission and doesn't create the nuclear waste that fission does.

Fusion cannot be used because we have not yet been able to sustain a fusion reaction due to extreme technical problems with containment. 2.. Fission reactions produce plutonium as a waste product which has a very long half life. 3. Electricity is generated the same as almost all other power plants. The nuclear reaction turns water to steam which is used to turn turbines which run a generator. E=mc^2 is the equation which predicts how much energy would be released by a particular mass (m) of a material if 100% of it were converted to energy.

When the technology is ready - so am I.
No more fossil fuel emissions and no more nuclear waste - sounds pretty good to me.

Fission? Yes, they're perfectly safe.
Fusion? No way. Not until we figure out first how to MAKE one and then make them safe.
