We relocated to Charlotte from NY in 1998 and absolutely love it -- now we live in Union County, just south of south Charlotte. For me and my family it was the right choice for sure. Wherever you decide to go, I would check out crime stats -- I'm surprised at what other poster said. Let me know if you would like link for Charlotte crime stats. Take care :)

It's crime rate is bad(Charlotte), I think you would like Cary, NC better (it was voted one of the best cities to live in )... check it out!

Charlotte has remarkably few good restaurants and visitor's attractions for a city of its size. It's got a ton of strip clubs, though.

charlotte is a great place to visit but the crime rate is rather high they have more murders than detroit.
