I liked him when he played with Humble Pie and he is a great guitar player and musician but he wimped out and made a lot of money and lots of songs I didn't think were so good but obviously, Frampton Comes Alive was liked by a lot of people...hell, he was on the Simpsons, so he's cool!!!

G'day Jane l,

Thank you for your question.

Frampton Comes Alive was a massive album back in 1976 when I was 14. Apparently, he went to the same school as David Bowie and they were in different bands. His solo debut was 1972's Wind of Change. Peter Frampton is famous for his use of the talkbox in the 14-minute epic "Do You Feel Like We Do", and the shorter "Show Me The Way".

Frampton's solo breakthrough was the six million plus selling album Frampton Comes Alive! (1976), which included "Do You Feel Like We Do", "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Show Me the Way". After his follow-up, I'm in You, was released, selling close to 1 million copies, Frampton was involved in a serious car crash in the Bahamas. Upon his recovery, Frampton played a part in the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

He continues to record but without the same success he enjoyed in the 1970's. On September 12, 2006, A&M released his newest album, an instrumental work titled "Fingerprints". His band consists of drummer Shawn Fichter, guitarist Gordon Kennedy and bassist John Regan - and guest artists, such as members of Pearl Jam and Hank Marvin. If you liked his guitar work, it might be worth checking out.

Regards

His live album Frampton Comes Alive was very good. Even better was the live Humble Pie album (Frampton was the lead guitarist in Humble Pie, but not the lead singer, that was Steve Marriot). The live Humble Pie album is the 2nd best live album I ever heard. (The Allman Brothers Live At The Fillmore is the best live album.)
