Ok here is the problem, I know it's difficult to help when you can't see the thing yourself but let's see if I can explain this the best that I can. I play sims 2, last night I downloaded some extras to add to it. They were zipped files so I did extract all on all of them and then sent them to the (d) drive to the Sims2. Last night it was working. When I turned on the game it was there. Then this morning I turned on my computer and all the extras were gone AND the old games that I had saved over the last 5 months were all gone. the files that were sent to the (d) drive say they are ready to write to a CD. How do I get these downloads onto the game? I don't care all that much about accessing the lost games although it would be nice if it is simple to do. when I send to the sims2 file it just says not on cd needs to be written to cd. I did copy it onto a cd but was I supposed to and if so what do I do with it now? Can anyone help me, plz don't try unless you really know about computers.

Thanks very much for the smart *** answer. Just because I said I play a computer game doesn't mean I play it every day all day. I play maybe a few days a week. But hey thanks for the advice or lack there of. I've got 2 kids soon to be 3 they keep my time most of the time so if I get a little time to myself I say I get to spend it how I want. And it's really hot here so going outside while I am 5 months pregnant isn't the best thing for me.

Okay, it sounds as though you installed stuff successfully into your game. And were able to access them.

Later you tried to play again, and everyting was 'reset'.

The scenario you mention can happen if you log into the wrong setting on a multiple user computer. For example, if you usually log into your machine as 'destine' and this time you log in as 'navarro', then all the game settings will be brand new as if the game has never been played before.

You are right, it is hard to guess what has happened to your game. I don't know why you would have a prompt to write your games to a CD. This is not a Sims 2 game element. It is some other program on your PC.
