i think you answered your own question. For me, it depends on the mood i'm in. AC/DC's Highway to hell, and You shook me all night long are great rock songs anytime, but if i need get going anything by lamb of god especially Redneck. I just wanna punch somebody when i hear that song.

But there really are so many awesome ones!!
Also, a recent Aussie t.v show found Stairway to Heaven to be the most widely acclaimed best rock song.

Well i personally like Open Arms by Journey...
But like everyone else said, If it could be narrowed down by band, or give you favorite 10 songs the question would be much more answerable.
And my mood is a big factor, I usually like Aerosmith and Rush and Queen.
