My mother-in-law of 33 years - she used to make the most delicious soup using the hambone from a holiday meal. mmm. I sure do miss her (she died last year).

It reminds me of how my (now-deceased) chocolate Labrador Retriever tolerated a ham bone being embedded in the roof of his mouth for several months-no whining or complaining on his part. I would never be able to tolerate a foreign object being stuck in the roof of my mouth for that long...or even a few seconds.
