They must be amazed that someone could buy off on their crap. I am actually more astonished when they tell the truth.

No, I'm astonished when conservatives think they can still get away with their smear tactics. Honestly, your leaders lied about Iraq, about the aftermath of Katrina, about Bush being a "uniter", about Gitmo, and even about how much they knew about the Foley scandal. Your peeps have been in office for five and a half years, and I can't even remember a single time when they told the truth. Mission accomplished? They'll greet us as liberators? Iraq had WMDs and ties to al-Qaeda? This is the last throws of the insurgency? We do not torture detainees? There are no secret prisons? Don't you guys get tired of being wrong all the time?

Actually they are astonished that they can't get away with it any longer. For so long their willing accomplices in the media never questioned them. Now with the rise of talk radio and Fox News, they actually have to answer tough questions and defend their ridiculous lies.
The easiest example to show is the recent Clinton media tour. Meredith Viera on NBC practically wet her panties while stammering a compliment about how intelligent he was. The guy from CNN gave Clinton money, on the air.
But when he gets on Fox News, and is asked real questions, like couldn't he have done more to get Osama, Clinton throws a fit because a reporter actually has the gall to ask him a tough question. And in the process, he sputters at least 2 lies that I caught, and talk radio caught several more. Here's one of them. Clinton said Bush demoted Richard Clarke. According to Richard Clarke, in his own book, he asked to be assigned to the cybercrime program.
Sorry liberals. The free ride is OVER! You can't get away with the lies any longer. You actually have to come up with new ideas, and defend them with facts and logic. Oh man you libs are in trouble.

Are liberals astonished when someone believes their lies?
They are about as astonished as when radical republicans find that their own ideas and narrow views are believed.
America is becoming more and more polarized. A large part of this is due to the media and their need for a sound bite. When you ask a moderate a question they actually have the nerve to listen to you and consider your opinion. This takes time away from the commercials, because the moderate is willing to think before saying something. When you ask a radical a question they don’t need to think about an answer they already have one formulated. Since, they aren’t willing to listen to anyone else’s point of view they don’t need to think about your question or your opinion. So they can give a quick response; which makes a great sound bite. Religious radicals are even better, they don’t even need to listen to your question, because they have a holy book (take your pick) that has all the answers and they can just quote from that. They don’t seem to worry that these books are almost 2000 years old.
The huge abundance of media stations and all talk radio take up a lot of time and bandwidth, so they have to fill that time with some content. This gives a soapbox to anyone who is willing to spout forth their b*llsh*t. Moderates aren’t very good in this medium since they insist in thinking before talking. They are also not controversial enough and that makes for boring radio and TV. Therefore, the radicals get more airtime. They don’t have to make sense; they just have to make a good show. Which is why foul mouthed, potty-brained Howard Stern has a media empire. The more people that hate him the more popular he becomes, and without the limits imposed by the FCC he can go as far (and farther) than his audience will allow. (Even Howard Stern will admit that I am telling the truth, in fact he will probably get mad at me for not SHOUTING IT LOUD ENOUGH.)
Then there is the Internet. Anyone can buy time on a website and publish anything that they want. It doesn’t have to make sense, or even be true. Anyone can do this and they can get their friends to promote them. If they have enough money they can advertise and get a larger audience; freedom of the press also allows freedom of advertising. They can circulate their opinions, foolishness, and shear junk as much as they want. To make it even worse the Internet doesn’t judge, so you get the strange stuff mixed in with the stuff that makes sense. If I run an Internet Search for the flattest place on Earth I can even get a result from the Flat Earth Society, or the AFFECT (Association of Fat Foolish Earthlings Compromised on Titan). If the website has the right key words on it then that website will come up more often in the search. Future plans for the Internet Search Engines are going to allow advertisers to pay the search engine company to put their company first on certain Internet Searchers. People usually only check out the first five or so results of a search so if the AFFECT wants to show up first on any searches for Fat Loss, Flat Earth, or even the Dixie Dudes then they only have to pay enough money to a search engine site to do so. They can even cheat as in the recent attempt to link George Bush and “dumb” on Internet searches.
The ease in communication produced by the Internet makes it much easier for people to get their views across or to pull information based scams. A teenager in high school was given an assignment to trade some stock so he could learn about the Stock Exchange. He did it on the Internet and then came up with at great scheme to make his “penny stocks” worth more. He invented a lot of Ids and then contacted several trading sites with buzz about the company he was promoting. This generated interest in the stock and when the price rose he sold it for a profit. By working the system he made a tidy little fortune out of barely nothing in only a few months, with very little work. The stock market has put in checks and balances and the FBI arrested the teenager on Stock Fraud charges. But, there are no such safeguards against this on the Internet. So if I wanted to promote the AFFECT (I did make this group up a few minutes ago, hopefully it hasn’t gotten a website promoting it yet). Then I could come up with whatever news story or opinion I wanted and I could post it all over the Internet. If I am clever with it and make something that could sound real like; this celebrity’s love child was created by person X. I could post it all over the place and even have people believe it. Hitler invented the “Big Lie” he proved that if you told a lie long enough, and to enough people then people would start to believe it. If I hacked into the celebrity’s fan site then I could email all these rumors to a huge fan base, I could even post it on this fan site. Rumors like this develop a life of their own and can quickly get out of hand. There is already an industry devoted to (or victims of) this with representatives like “The National En…” or the “Hollywood Rep…”
Radicals, religious, republican or liberal can get their views all over the media, and send them to a whole lot of people, more so than at any time. The Roman Catholic Church would still be the most powerful church in Christianity if Guttenberg weren’t looking for something to publish after his blockbuster the King James Version of the Bible. He made Martin Luther, and his list of reforms, better known than the Kings and Queens of Europe. Since the invention of the movable type printing press it has only gotten easier to do this. Currently the only way to handle this problem is to educate people so they have informed opinions and really understand the issues, but there I go spouting those crazy “moderate” ideas. Meanwhile what P.T. Barnum said is still true, “There is a sucker born every minute.” And I can get a lot of them to believe or at least listen to even the most stupid of ideas.

Yes. They lie so much that they are generally ignored. when one of their tall tales gets picked up and spread around they get all excited and won;t let it go. The Foley case is a perfect example. Even as the evidence is starting to come in that perhaps the minor was over the age of consent, they aren't letting facts get in the way of a good story.
The best part is I don't think most libs or their supporters have even read the emails... they are pretty boring. Not innocent, especially if the victim turns out to be a minor, but not in the realm of child molestation. That subject never even comes up.

Not nearly as astonished as conservatives when they find out that their "perfect and flawless" leaders are liars, cheats, closeted gays (openly gay pols are much less open to controversy and blackmail) and white-collar thieves...
Liberals at least are honest about their shortcomings, and don't live life in denial of their own true selves...
