Should war profiteers be punished?

people have profited off of every war that ever was. Your question assume that all must not look at the opportunity when it presents itself to make a profit for your company. Are you really that great a person, that all companies would be required to work at cost during war time? How far down the economy would that run? The question ignores both reality and history

It rather depends on what they are profiting from. Are they selling arms or other weapons of war? I do not see how they can be punished, it is a Bone -fide business, every country in the world is involved in it. Who would punish who? The government is not going censor its`self. With any war there is profit making, there are black-marketeers. There are people making profit from pain and death. But the governments do it in such a way, you don`t catch them at it.

Define a war profiteer ! Are you talking about arms mongers or blackmarketer ? And are you a war profiteer if you sell gasoline to the panzer divisions of your own country ? One must not confuse traitor and war profiteer and morality must not make you asking vague questions to which good doers will be glad to give a well-thinking answer and get two points !

Absolutely.

But it will never happen. War profiteering took place under Clinton as well (although, per se, there wasn't a "war" going on - but no-bid government contracts were given to Halliburton). The current admin has put a whole new spin on it - giving billions to corporations in exchange for political clout.

legally i think so bcuz there is a law that says it is illegal 2 profit off of a death so it should be illegal to profit off of war

I also think that people who give aid and comfort to the enemy should also be punished.
