Studies have shown that the number 2006 is inacurate, by a matter of 5 years in maximum ... The numbering system began around 1636A.D and it changed in time. So if you do the calculations, this might be the year 2001 A.D. or 2011A.D.

Apparently some guy named Jesus Christ was born 0 A.D. It is now 2006 years later. Now, the Chinese, for example, started numbering their years quite a bit earlier.
