Since I've got a ADSL, I have a Diamond all-in-one ADSL modem and 802.11G router. Its a modem and router in one package. It takes up way less space.

2wire - a modem and a router at the same time...

but most of the people are using Dlink, Linksys and Netgear..

Cisco, but at home, their consumer model, LinkSys.
Seriously, most routers designed for home use are fine.
There's not a whole lot of difference in performance anymore.
But don't ask Marketing...LOL
