Code "12" for GM is a code that identifies that there is NO pick-up signal for ignition. When pulling G.M. codes, this is the first code drawn, and is indicating that the Diagnostic Sequence has been initiated.
On Chrysler, it is a different thing altogether. A code "12" is an indication that the computer has lost its stand-by power (Battery has been disconnected or been dead) sometime in the last 75 engine on, run, and off cycles).
If that is the only code you have, there is nothing wrong in the computer-monitored power management.

God Luck

code 12 merely means the engine isn't running...that is not a problem. You can easily clear this code by accessing the fuse box...find the ecm fuse..remove it for a minute then replace it. this will save you from disconnecting the battery cable and having to reset your radio stations and all.

If you run the test again it will reset this code as the engine will not be running.
