I am pissed off. But honestly we could have done alittle better. Detroit did play good. We still have next year. And we will take it next year.

I wouldn't say ticked, but I am disappointed. It is pretty bad when your pitching sucks, your hitting sucks, and your fielding, well SUCKS. I am a Yankee fan, and I can't get over how these guys just caved in and imploded. Sure, the Tigers pitched well (Rogers) and hit extremely well (Ordonez), but the Yankees didn't even show up! Randy Johnson? Jarret Wright? Forget it. Mussina did a good job, but got no run support. Wang did an awesome job, but at least the bats showed up in support. Jeter had his moment in the spotlight in game one, but that was about it. Except for Posada's HR in the closing moments of game four, it was a pretty sad outing for the Yanks. Torre was pretty upset at the press conference after the game - CAN YOU BLAME HIM? You have an incredible lineup and they don't even bother to try. No patience at the plate (why do you jump on the first pitch you see from a rookie in the playoffs? Make him work!), poor fielding (I think A-Rod would fit the bill in both instances). Everybody says they would want him on their team - good! They can have him. Maybe it is time for the Yankees to concentrate on their farm system, and develop a young, new look team with hungry players who want to play and win and not just collect a paycheck. (Gee, doesn't that sound like the TIGERS?). I think Torre is done there, but then again, every time the Yankees lose in post season play, the whole "Heads are going to roll" chatter starts and Torre is always top of the list. He has lasted this long, but I think he needs to step aside. I think Joe is great, but the job is going to kill him! I wonder how much maalox he drank over the last 48 hours. In the off-season they need to do something besides buying up old and declining talent (DO YOU HEAR ME CASHMAN??) I don't want to see Randy Johnson come out with his walker to pitch opening day at the Brand New Stadium!
Well, at least it wasn't Boston who beat us. Hey, you gotta look hard to see the bright side sometimes. Maybe the Mets will make it this year...

First of all, I'm an A's fan, so I'm pleased they're out of the way (though with the way Detroit has been playing, I'm not sure if the A's are in better or worse shape now). Mostly, I'm just glad some other teams are getting a chance lately; I love NY and everything, but the Yankees are the highest paid team in the game, and its great to see some 'underdogs' like the A's and Tigers winning out.

Let's go Oakland!

Not me! I'm an A's fan, and everyone around here was rooting for the Tigers. We haven't had much luck against the Yankees in the playoffs in the past, and now we have home field advantage. Go A's!

I am. But I must give a lot of credit to the Tigers. They played better than the Yankees. Congrats Detroit.

I think it is an upset because the way Detriot played at the end. I dont think people are mad as much as they are dissapointed. I wanted to see the A's play them because the Yankees tend not to play well on the west coast.

I'm really bummed. I was hoping to see them play the Mets in the World Series. I am now hoping that the Mets at least win. I need one of my teams to go...
