Christ is the the Word. The Word is alive. And "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" therefore, we all need forgiveness to obtain eternal life with God.

Faith is a very powerful thing it gives hope to those who needs help. But for me I'm a man of science and I look at it another way.
As adults we tell our children off for having imaginary friends I do find this interesting. For as adults if we were to have imaginary friends we would be seen as insane and in need of some mental therapy yet interestingly enough a large percentage of adults do in fact believe in a very large and powerful imaginary friend.
for yourself god must be very real and this belief must bring you faith and strength within yourself.
The ability to forgive comes from within and all whether faithful or faithless still have the ability to forgive anyone.!

Yes God loves us. No the word is not love. It's not any one word. The word is christ. Christ our salvation. We are not worthy of God, but christ is. If we ask for it, we will recieve salvation through his sacrifice. He is the only man to have ever lived an immaculate life-the only one worthy of God.

Matthew 6
14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Love is not sappy. God is holy, and so both loving and just.
What makes you think love means, 'Anything goes'?

There is very often a wide gap between belief and intention.
That is where forgiveness comes in
