Make sure and sand or wire brush the area clean of rust and dirt down to bare metal. Then use JB Weld. It may take more than one coat.

Believe It Or Not A Welder That Knows What He Is Doing Can Weld It,I Have Done It By Filling Tank With Carbon Monoxide(From The Exhaust Of A Second Vehicle And Make Sure All Gas Is Empty And Evaporated For A Couple Of Days,And Make Sure U Keep The Tank Being Welded Full Of Carbon Monoxide At All Times While Welding (FULL)...Might Be Safer To Wait For New Tank...Where U Live Russia U Can't Get A TAnk ?...

Try some J B Weld, let the gas get below the leak and clean the area. Do not use an open flame or anything that could cause a spark. If you want ot fix it yourself, take the tank off and fill it with water. that should remove any fumes. Then try the J B Weld

buy the DIY auto fuel tank sealer kit from KBS Coatings for about $57...permanently Seals up to a 25 gal tank including all pinholes and weld seams. You won't have to replace the tank after using this kit!

I've hear of Darwin Awards contestants who tried to use a torch to fix it and ended up blowing the entire apartment out into the street.

I might try something like epoxy or fiberglass resin. Steel wool the seam, get it clean, mix up the resin and hardener and just brush it on.

i own a repair shop, and if you can get it dry enough and clean enough some epoxy glue will hold it for a while but it has to be really clean and dry,and will have to set for a while before you add gas back to that point of it it may hold ,and it may not,,i have repaired a few that would hold for a while ,,but don't get to confident in it ,it may start leaking again at any time, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.
