I think the Tigers were just playing relaxed because they knew they had made the playoffs for the first time in forever and the Royals were fighting to win some games to go out on a positive note.

I hope you are not serious. The KC Royals played well, the Tigers did not. They are professionals too and want to play the best that they can. Just remember, any team can beat any other team any day of the year.

The Tigers would have rather had home field advantage as the Central Division Champs. I do think that the Yankees did not have enough good pitching. Randy Johnson is 43 years old with a bad back; Mike Mussina is in his late 30's; Jaret Wright does not throw as well as he did before he hurt his arm. Wang is their only strong starter left.

Doubtful, the Tigers wanted to win the Division title. That would ahve meant more then the Wild Card!

Are you saying that the Tigers were confident about winning against the Yankees even though nobody thought they would?
