We've noticed that whenever Casey is up to bat, they play oart if that Pearl Jam song "Evenflow". Does anyone know why? I can't see any connection between the song itself and baseball. Is it just one of his favorites? Can players request certain songs be played when they're up?
What's the deal with that song and Kasey?

The players have "their song" that gets played whenever they go up to bat. A-Rod used to have linkin park song that was totally irrelevant to anything that was in his life. I believe the lyrics were, "I've become so numb" and all I could think of was, "Jesus Christ, he has the most lucrative sports contract in the history of the world, he's a celebrated player, has hit more homeruns than anyone else at his age in the history of the game, he has a nice family from what I hear, and he's 'become so numb'?"

Maybe I shouldn't read into it. He probably just likes the song.

In any case, the players choose a song that gets played when they go to bat. They usually change every season.

Players will often choose a song or a few songs as their walkup music leading up to an at bat. That was just the song Sean Casey chose as his walkup music.

Occasionally a team will want to associate a specific song with a specific player... When Mark Loretta was playing in San Diego they took to playing "Low Rider" as his walkup music... Similar to "Lo Retta"...

In most cases, however, the player chooses his walkup music.

haha i used to think that too but i found out that it is indeed just what the players want played.

but, i have heard the song played not only while players come up to bat, but also in between innings...also, i have heard it played when craig monroe gets a hit.
i have been to the games and casey just likes the song and the djs just play it a lot too..but hey..its a good song...props to casey!!

The players choose their songs, normally, and if they don't, the stadium "dj" does for them.

Casey just happens to like Pearl Jam, which makes sense, since he grew up in the grunge era.
