A good movie needs a good plot and cast, not like one of these new movies that use special effects to cover up the bad acting and lousy plot. A good movie is a movie I can sit through for two hours, and the two hours were well-spent.

a beginning, middle and end, not necessarily in that order. It needs a good story and someone who knows how to make that story come alive on the screen.

a clever script with good dialog, good casting, a fitting director (soulful for emotional story, a scoundrel for ironic story, etc.), an imaginative camera crew and I'm guessing that's it

and it's "need", not "needs"
