what people consider pop/rock may vary greatly depending on the music-listener.
i would recommend some Matchbox20 (Rob Thomas has since gone solo..check out his solo stuff too). Also, Switchfoot is a cool band. Their music is more rock than pop, but uplifting music nonetheless.
