go under the hood next to the battery and check the fuses

Doesn't this one have a relay to switch beams? Check and make sure that the relay isn't bad. If it is , - it won't matter what the dimmer switch is doing! Also I don't think it has separate fuses between high and low!, But I guess it wouldn't hurt to check fusebox and see! - By the way is the high beam as bright as normal, or sort of dim, - if dim check ground connections on both sides!

Does the high beam go out when you operate the switch, - or stay on? If it stays on, you probably have something "fused" together, in switch, relay, or wiring somwewhere in front of car. Haven't been in accident lately??

The headlight switch could be bad, and there could be a fuse that needs to be replaced

You could have a short in the wires. or it could also be your fuses
