It depends on what part of America your talking about like everywhere else there are regional accents. My wife hates the Texan drawl but I like the way every conversation ends in a question. You sound as if your talking behind a gritted smile or begrudgingly and are so over the top varying your voice and volume to accommodate. The more important the word, the louder or higher pitched.

Well, they sound American! But you know, it is not very easy for a non American to distinguish one accent from another. We can hear the difference, but very often cannot identify which area or state the accent belongs to. Personally, I know the New York accent and of course the Bronx. Chicago and Philadelphia, some of the New England accents are very similar to English. I have a Texan daughter-in-law, so I have no problem there. We can usually distinguish countryside Mid -Western accents, and people from the Southern states are also recognisable. some accents are sweet sounding some grating, but I have never heard one that I dislike. Variety is the spice of life!! Keep talking , I love to listen.

Just yesterday I had to call to USA South Dakota, Aberdeen (I think code 605?).... Accent was American, but the most important: the person was so polite!! I do like to have customers from America!

Depends which part of America. Some are really nice and interesting others can sound a bit whiney but am afraid can't identify the areas.
