Why is a widescreen monitor better than a standard one.

Obviosly for movies but why should i spend that extra bit of money on one!

A widescreen monitor gives you more space on your screen to work on so if you like to run many windows side by side at the same time a widescreen moniter is better!

Mine came standard with my PC so I did not pay extra for it. It took a little while to get used to, but now a regular screen bugs the heck out of me. I do A LOT of graphic work, and I really love it. I would never go back!

If you do graphics, spreadsheets, or if you multi-task, having several windows open at once, you will LOVE having a widescreen monitor.

Otherwise, it's probably not that important for your needs.

I do a lot of CAD drawing and it's great to show all the drawing it also gives me the ability to split the screen and view the whole picture on one while working close up on the other.

For GAMES
Widescreen games look awesome.
And documents as well.
Because its more natural.
You see more in the horizontal plane than the vertical.
