"Unsuccessful" is very dependent on the aim of the marketing program. You use the word "process" and there really are no 'unsuccessful' marketing processes...by definition, they wouldn't survive. It is the program that fails, not the process.

Marketing processes are best understood via library or academic research. I recently took a marketing program for graduate work that used the book, "A Framework for Marketing Management" by Phillip Kotler" that would be a good starting point for you. All web stuff will be general and probably shallow.

Good luck.

An unsuccessful attempt would be to try to market something on Yahoo Answers... a better attempt would be to place an ad in your local newspaper. If you have the money, cable TV can offer reasonable rates.

It depends on what you call successful, if you mean they are plastered all over the place and people see them, then do the obvious and look around. If you mean how much money did they bring in, I suggest you ring a few corporations and ask them.
