Hello,
I will not insult you, but I will explain a couple of things. I do not know how much background you have, so I will speak quite simply. Please don't think I am talking down to you, just trying to help you understand.
As was mentioned before, the American professional football championship is know as the Super Bowl. In baseball, the championship game is known as the World Series. Now, there is only one non-American team represented (Toronto, Canada), but I agree with you that it is a silly designation since almost all of the teams are American. However, I will point out that the representation on these teams is truly international. I personally feel like there are teams in Japan who would do very well against American teams, and countries like Mexico and the Dominican Republic clearly have the talent, but not the economic force to put together a competative program.
Back to Football.
Before you say it, of course it is a silly name. Football implies that your feet are used, such as in soccer (proper football).
Now to the pads. American football is an anomaly among sports because each player is so specialized to their possition. These athletes are designed, through their training, to do one or two very specific things very well. Defenders are designed to hit people as hard as possible. American football players are faster and heavier than players in any other contact sport. The amount of power at impact requires pads. The key is the line. Unlike rugby, in which the scrum lines up almost in contact with one another, these linemen have a few feet to get up speed before contact. If you wanted to go up against a 300lb lineman running at a good 10-15 mph without pads or a helmet, you could - but I chose not to.
I hope this unedited rambling is a little bit helpful.

Ha-ha, silly padded football game huh? Well to answer your question it is the world championship because it is where the best football players in the world play. If there was a better football player from somewhere else he would come to this league because a 30 million dollar contract is worth more than any contract you can get anywhere else. And here's a question for you if its so silly why is the Superbowl the most watched televised event every year?

As usual you retarted Americans have missed the point and used the easier option of diversion, attacking the only part you can win. I ask then. Why is baseball called the world series. BTW I heard of a couple of American Football players who had a go at rugby league and said it was way more physical than their game.

1. Get your facts straight before you ask a question.
2. Our football is not silly. There are reasons they are padded, unless football in other countries.
3. It is the Super Bowl in Football. The World Series is for Baseball!

Its called the Super Bowl. Baseball has the World Series. And series implies that there is more then one game and the Super Bowl is just one game. Research next time you plan on making a claim, makes you look smarter.
Also we use a lot of players that come over from the Europe football league also. So it is not just in America. China also is catching on to it and have made arrangments to host a preseason game next year. They expect to send the Patriots, I wonder why?

The Championship for American Football is called the Super Bowl, not the World Series. The World Series is baseball. You should probably research your questions before just throwing something on here and looking like a fool. Also, take it easy on the CAPS LOCK and try working on your english grammar a bit as well.

"Dont you have a soccer activity to observe?" is the main suitable answer. and that i'd desire to consider the posts asserting that the main suitable gamers from around the international play baseball contained in the US. in case you took any group from yet another united states and performed the main suitable MLB group, it can be a blood bathtub. it somewhat is in basic terms the way it truly is been set up because of the fact the begining. it could be cool, nevertheless, to call the hot international baseball experience (what develop into it, the international baseball classic or some thing like that?) from this spring the "international sequence" nevertheless. It won't take place, nevertheless...

Now now you bickering britons and angry americans, its time for a Canadian perspective. No need to get all pissed off. American or grid-iron football is just an evolution of rugby. Here in Canada we play both. In actual fact we started playin grid-iron before the Americans did and they borrowed it from us and changed it some more. (yup the Grey Cup is way older than American Football check it out) They are both tough and interesting games, though I have to admit that I prefer rugby.
Despite getting the name wrong, the real issue is why do you Americans insist on calling your national champions the 'world champions'? And yes, you Americans certainly do call your Superbowl champions World Champions just like you call the baseball champions World Champions.

The World Series is for baseball not American Football. Although, why it is called the Super Bowl at the end of the season, escapes me.

Being a Kiwi living in America, I tend to agree with you. But also to the defense of the American's this is their national sport. I have tried to work out just how they play it. I also feel they wear far too much protection. But I will admit they must be pretty fit to play the lenght that they do.
