I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

avoid fatty foods, don't eat the fat of the pork, beef and skin of the chicken, as much as possible boil or steam or grill food. Discipline is also an important factor, set a goal on how much weight in a month u should lose - 4 lbs a month is attainable, better be slow in losing weight than gain it again if u stop.. avoid desserts as much as possible, also avoid "junk food" coz they contain trans fat which is also bad when ur trying to lose weight.. exercise at 3 to 4 times a week

Discipline.
Local food is deicious but sadly, has some of the fattiest contents around. This is hard, but cut down, or completely scrap out rice from your diet. This worked for me. End result, I lost 10 lbs in a span of 3 months (Im 5 ft @ 100 lbs) plus I work out.
Some tips:
Exercise daily, resistance training should also be part of it.
Mix protein and veggies; carbs and veggies but never proteins and carbs.
Stick to wholewheat bread, pasta and brown rice.
Drink lots of water.
I know it's asking the impossible since evrything is better eaten with rice. But you'll have to change your meal plan. Read up on healthy eating. There are thousands of them on the net. Once you have a general idea of what a healthy diet consists of, Filipino food won't be as appealing anymore.
Motivator: Flat stomach, non-flabby arms, no thunder thighs, and a pair of *** instead of 2 ( no WIDE LOAD! catcalls as you walk past)

When you cook your rice, mix in some brown rice. You will not notice much flavor difference and this adds complex carbohydrates to your rice. Do this in addition to cutting down the amount.
Like others suggested DRINK WATER. For some reason I see a lot of people who diet drink hot water instead of cold but I have no idea why and doubt there is any medical basis to this but it could be worth a try.
Cut the skin & fats off your meat when eating.
Don't eat too little!!! Still eat and eat the foods you enjoy, just cut down the amounts of the fattier foods.

I agree with you about filipino food....it's one of the best foods EVER!!!!!!
Lumpia is one of the foods that have a high calorie count....and I know it's really really good...but that's one of the things you need to cut down on.
Eat more fish, cut down on pork....and keep exercising.
My husband is filipino and I had the same problem.
