I try to keep a clean organized house, but I am just not too good at those sorts of things. I try to make lists, but somehow I wind up doing maybe 1 thing off the lists, I try to keep calenders and forget to check them. Any advice on how to excell in these areas?

Put your calendars in obvious places, like on the bathroom mirror or refrigerator, some place where you will see it every morning. Take the time to check it. Next decide on a place where you want everything to go, when it needs to be put up, do it then. Once you do this several times, it will become a habit and will be easy to keep. If you don't have luck with lists, either don't make them or start with easier list to follow. It's just like goals, don't set them so high that you fail at accomplishing them, start small and work your way up. Good luck.

I agree with Divad's answer. It really is about committing to a lifestyle. I get up in the morning and review my day. Then I break it down. What's happening in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I go to the kitchen, where we keep a dry erase calendar on the fridge, so I can see what's planned while I'm getting the milk for my coffee. I keep my belongings to a minimum to reduce clutter. I swear by plastic bins--yes they make prettier containers but I'm on a strict budget! One of my favorite items is my laundry sorter which keeps dirty clothes in 3 mesh bags according to what can be washed together. Take it one organizing project at a time, and once you see how easily and efficiently things are going, you'll be able to take on more!

you are not alone on this one, i assure you that. The #1 best thing you can do to help with organization is simplify your life. Get rid of all the crap that you don't need, minimize the stuff you do need. If you get rid of 50% of your stuff, you've eliminated 50% of the problem. Also create systems for decision making and maintaining the simplification efforts. When you buy a new shirt, get rid of an old one. etc.

HI!

Make it like a job. Have a reward when things go good.
Keep charts for the things to be done on certain days etc.
Buy storage bins for things to organize better.
Good Luck!
