This DVD/CD writer is built-in in my Laptop LG LS55 Express, It is detected by the laptop but it wont read, play or burn any kind of DVD/CD/VCD or data. What's wrong??? Thanks.

you need a new one
but a all in 1 that can read burn
but for a laptop its gonna cost you the best thing to do here is buy a usb , dvd(rw) you can just plug in from the usb port at the back of the laptop and there easy to install if you buy one to fit in the laptop its going to be so much to pay out have a look at the usb dvd(rw) drives on this website

Go to device manager and in the right pane, tic on "DVD/CD-ROM Drives". Then right tic on the offending drive, and select "Uninstall", then reboot the computer. This reloads the drivers, they may have been corrupt.
