The chances are that it's an inflamed lymph node due to some infection. Keep a eye on it but if it doesn't go away after a few weeks then get your doctor to have a look at it.

I had a neck lump about 12 months ago which turned out to be thyroid cancer that had spread to a lymph node so it's best not to ignore these things if they're not going away.

After surgery etc. I'm thankfully now well on the mend.

It could possibly be a sty. So it my not be anything to worry about. But it could also be skin cancer. Basically keep an eye on it for a while. If it grows or gets red or itchy, then go get it checked. Also it if doesn't not go away after a few weeks. If it doesn't do anything and then just disappears after a few days, then it's probably just a sty. I've gotten these in my eye lobes before and it's nothing to worry about. But if the symptoms show up then there's something to worry about. Good luck.

Edit: Or like the other person said, it could also be your lymp nodes swelling, if you've had a cold or felt sick, then you might need to go get on antibiotics.

I had the same thing a few weeks ago. It was under my ear and the size of a dime under the skin. It was a cyst and they go away any where from 1-3 weeks. If it was cancer it would not come up fast. Don't worry if it gets red because they do that. But if it gets bigger and more painful then definatly go to see a Dermatologist.

Sounds like one of your many glands...Have you had any cold signs recently?
