it probably does not matter. But I would take the plane at this time of the year, a lot less choppy.

What most of the people are saying is that you will need to go via another another country like mexico and take the flight out to go to Cuba but may I suggest that your English friend check with Cuban Embassy nearest to where he/she is living this way he/she will not get a kick in rear once he arrived into Cuba.
The americans are banned for going to Cuba because of what happened to Kennedy while he was president. Castro claims to be a president of cuba but in reality he is a number one Dictator that Cuba has had for nearly 50 years now and if he dies, the world will not mourn his loss.
that is my point as a viewer.

You cannot travel to Cuba from the US. There aren't any boats or planes that go to Cuba from the US, because it is against the law for Americans to go to Cuba.
The person will have to go to Cuba from another country.

You can get to Cuba from the USA, One flight a day leaves from MIA
However you must get special permission! It would be easier to go from another country!
And don't even think about flying back to the us on that one plane unless you have nothing at all with you. It really is a pain in the butt to say the least.

There are no regularly scheduled flights for regular passengers between Cuba and anywhere in the US, however, their are many flights to Cuba leaving from various places in the US, including Miami, but these flights are, for the most part, humanitarian in nature. Other flights that are allowed are diplomatic, or currier flights. Your friends citizenship doesn't matter; if he/she can't get on one of the flights above he/she will have to go to another country in order to get to Cuba. If your friend elects to go to Cuba from Mexico he/she can fly, or take a ferry. The ferry takes approx. 30 hours from the Yucatan.

Listen amigo , now is not a good time to go to Cuba ,things there are undercover ,Mr. fidel is dying (if not already dead) his brother is suppose to be in control ,but he is not ,right now nobody knows whats going on ,mr.fidel has not been seen alive in person ,only in pictures and them can be fix. so if i were you i would wait a bit before going and getting stuck overthere.
remember if you go thru a 3rd country and you are stuck there the US is not going to help you get out ,because you are not suppose to be there. THINK

Well all I have to say is good luck and be careful because if they catch you they can keep you there forver or as long as they want.
If the United States catches you,you can be fined like "woah" and be thrown in jail. There are no flights out of the United States,so in other words is you'd have to go to another country such as Canada, for example to get over to Cuba.Well good luck hope this helped!! :)
Hope some of these links help! :)
