You did not mention your age, but I suspect either a muscle injury like carpel tunnel(repetetive motion injury) or a minor sprain.
The other idea was gout, although most common in your feet, gout can affect your hands too. To try an experiment to see if its gout or similar problem, try drinking 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a little juice 3 times a day for two or three days and see if it helps. The vinegar will reduce the amount of uric acid in your body, the biggest cause of gout and other arthritic problems. If this works, you may want to adjust your diet, bacause the food you eat is the cause of excess uric acid. Punch up GOUT on your browser and you'll see lists of good and bad foods for gout. Another idea is to take 3 heavy duty ibuprofen 3 time a day for 2 or 3 days. They are an anti inflamitory and painkiller , should help. good luck.

It is possible that what you have is a trigger finger. This is a fairly common orthopedic problem. It sometimes needs to be treated with surgery depending on how severe the symptoms are, but it can usually be managed nonoperatively.

Don't tell you to go to the doctor? what are we supposed to do? Sounds like the beginnings of mild arthritis, you can get this very young sometimes, just wait to see the doctor. It could also be a swollen joint or problems with fluid or muscles. Could be a number of things, nobody on this can tell you anything else except get to a doctor, as they are professional unlike people on this..
