Yes I have. So have my family, friends, and coworkers. Yes I will do it again. I make chili mac enough to feed 50 once monthly at a homeless shelter, serve food on some holidays at a family shelter, collect and deliver clothes for women's and children's shelters, and do various other things to help. Coworkers and I at the university where I work have been doing the chili mac days for 3 years now (we take approx 30 trays' worth and each serves about 25), the holiday serving - family does this - has been for I think 10 years. My brother-in-law got us started on the holiday one. The clothing began because I knew of a woman and 2 children that needed help, and it just went from there. I don't have a lot of money - in fact we are on lower end of scale - but my family was raised to help others as well as yourself. My grandparents used to feed hobos during the depression (grandpa worked for the railroad and they lived a few blocks from one of the track camps). There was always at least one visitor for supper - grandma always made extra soup or stew and bread even though they didn't have much either - and they had an old stable-turned-into-shed that gave the hobos a place to sleep before eating a bit of breakfast and then being on their way to wherever they could find work. Usually there were 3-6 extra mouths. My mom learned from her parents about people, she passed it to me, and I did the same to my grown children. People are much the same regardless of money or learned etiquette. They all need someone's help somewhere along the line. We did once long ago, and neighbors came to our aide, or we may have been in the same position as those in shelters. It can happen to anyone.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.
According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.
