OMG yes!!! They cause us a lot of worry no matter how well you raise them. Just keep those lines of communication open, always tell them you love them and let them know there are two things not acceptable at your house: 1) The police and,
2) Father's with pregnant daughters.

Some kids never become adults. I have 2 boys 14 & 23 and most of the time the 14 is more mature than the 23. 23 is probably going to go to jail for writing bad checks, not paying on credit cards and stealing things from the store that he used to work at. I try to be supportive, but lately he has really pushed the envelope. Other times they will change. We thought my brother was headed down a road of no return. He grew out of the phase and now has a bachelors degree and has a very prestigious career.

Your kids cause your worry no matter what the age- if your a good Mom.
I just spent half the night up with my son last evening, after he found out his girl of 6 years was stepping out on him.
We love them- we want the best for them- we worry.

No, it's not just you. Loving your son and knowing how the world is causes a lot of worrying, I know I have a just turned eighteen yr. old son and I worry about him just as much as I do his sisters.

yes they cause you a lot of worry....but i do not think it stops at 16...maybe this is the roughest year you have had...but my youngest is 25 and i tell you the things he has gotten into would drive someone nuts...he just got out of prison...and i tried to help him....but i made the mistake of saying i would go against him if he tried to get his kids and live around my ex husband...so now he is really mad and does not let me see my grandkids...though i see the girls because they do not live with him...my first husband was so abusive and he threw water in my granddaughters face, he is always drinking and he lives filty...and i do not want my grandkids to turn out or learn things like my sons have learned...i just hope your son straightens up and you do not have to go through years and years of this...

Having a sixteen year old boy OR girl is a lot of worry! They are at the stage where they think they are adults and yet are still immature and dangerous with what little knowledge they do have.

Your are not alone honey...a sixteen year old boy..and sixteen year old girl...doesnt matter...they are trying out their independence...they will push you to your limits...you have to let them make mistakes on their own...that is the only way they seem to learn...and when they make a bad choice they must know that you'll be there for them no matter what...if you have instilled good morals and values they will turn out okay in the end...you can offer advice but dont expect them to accept all of it...let him know you love him and that you are there for him...
