i never dated anyone, like 12 years older, but of all the guys I know, my professor is the hottest. guys my age are great but there's something so appealing about my prof. Maybe just that he's unavailable and it makes him a little more mysterious that way.

what do you think

Keep the prof at arms length.

It is unprofessional for your professor to date students, not to mention grounds for dismissal if the adninistration gets wind of it.

Additionally, professors rarely have serious relationships with their students.

I know from experience that there is nothing wrong with being interested in or dating someone much older than you. I am currently with a man that is 13 years older than I am and we have lenty to talk about, do together, etc. My ex husband is 10 years older than I am. When I was 19, I dated a guy that was 12 years older than me. I have also dated a couple of guys that were a couple of years younger than me. I think it all has to do with the maturity level of both partners--and the availability of both of them.

As for your 'attraction' to your professor, STEER CLEAR until you graduate. Professors are not allowed to date students or else they can, and will, be fired/dismissed. It is also unethical. If you want someone older than you, don't look to professors of your school; look elsewhere. Go where people at the age group you are attracted to would hang out. DON'T go for the unavailable men or else you will get hurt/burned very badly. They are unavailable for a reason, which means they should be steered clear of.

It is not weird to have a crush on older men. Some women like older men, some prefer younger men. It is common to like boys older than you, because the ones your age are immature. Boys take longer to grow up !
Professors have power and control in the classroom setting, and therefore take on a role of superiority. They guide you, and give advice, among other things. Who wouln't have a crush on someone who does all this? However, he is actually your mentor, someone you look up to. You are confusing this feeling with romantic feelings. That's okay, many women go through this stage.
Keep in mind, there are other professions with the same dilemma(bosses, doctors). They MUST keep their relationship with you a professional one. For your own good, you should do the same.

Many women are attracted to older guys .Mostly because of the choices she has are immature little boys still playing Macho Man.
Older men are experienced at love making ,taking care of a woman and confident enough to give her space .
I know many couples where the age difference is anywhere from 10 to 30 years difference .And they`re still Married or together .

I think you should be careful about being attracted to "unavailable" and older men. This can get you into more trouble than you bargained for if they're attracted to you too.
Men your age would be more appropriate, there are some that are more mature than others. It is normal tho to have crushes on teachers, this has always happened.

I was always attracted to guys that were 5-10 years older than myself. I don't think it is weird depending on what is attracting you to them. For me it was more their maturity level, not so much their availabilty. My fiance and I are 8 years apart and we have a great relationship as far as being able to have great conversations about various topics and enjoying doing the same things, guys my age seem to still want to hang out in bars and stuff, that is not for me (been there done that in college).

I know what you mean. My two best relationships have been with girls 10 and 12 years younger than me. There is something about being with a mature guy or a younger girl.

Nothing wrong with liking older men... I do! I think that men with grey hair are so sexy! Also, men who are older are more experienced (not necessarily with sex), mature, and know what they want in life. Most are more stable than the younger guy... But, having said that, I would steer clear from your professor.

Heck,no!
It's not even a biggie if you
like guys that are 1-2 yrs.
younger than you. Like,
I was married to a 17 yr. old
guy and I'm 18. Plus,I'm a
mom of 1-and gonna b 2
on Feb.12th,2007.
Absolutely nothing wrong w/ that!

Not at all ! It is more accepted if the woman is younger, than the opposite like the man being the younger of the two .I guess you'd call me old fashioned , but I feel the woman should be younger than the man ...but different strokes.....right?
