That is a very good question so I'm giving you a thumbs-up rating. I think the answer has to do with the intensity of the thoughts which take place during the dream, as well as to some extent the currency in terms of what your life is like now. I have dreams about tornadoes quite often. In real life I have never seen a tornado in person, only pictures or video. But I think the tornado is a dream metaphor for problems or difficulty in my life, and it seems like whenever I do have a tornado dream, my life is in uproar somehow. And I always remember tormado dreams whenever I have them, in very great detail.

we usually remember things that have great impact on us and theres always a tendency to forget those that are not
