is this the most boring question ever?

Assuming a Technical Support Engineer Level 2 is higher up the organisation than a Technical Support Engineer, then it would make sense that one could be promoted from the latter to the former.

In the same way, this question might be promoted from Stupid Question to Stupid Question Level 2, where a Stupid Question Level 2 is either less relevant to computer networking than your other Stupid Questions, or is a status obtained simply by posting so many Stupid Questions in such a short space of time.

I'm sure that if you put in the hours, and make the extra effort you'll be noticed by the people that matter. Then it's only a matter of time before your name badge will read 'Technical Support Engineer - Level 2'.

Who know's if you stick at it, you may even make Level 3 one day. The world will be your oyster....

yes of course! show what you've got to your supervisor and if you have the potential to be a level 2 tech support then they will surely promote you.
